Georgia Aquarium has reached another milestone for the books - Nearly 14 months after the exhibit opened its doors, AT&T Dolphin Tales has welcomed and inspired its one millionth visitor!
“Reaching this milestone is a reflection of the dedication, as well as a compliment to the guest experience that is provided by our staff and volunteers,” said David Kimmel, president and chief operating officer of Georgia Aquarium. “Through this memorable experience, Georgia Aquarium seeks to educate audiences on the importance of embracing aquatic animals, motivating viewers to care about the challenge they face in their natural environment and inspiring them to make positive environmental choices.”
In honor of this milestone, the one millionth visitor along with her family and friends did not leave Georgia Aquarium empty handed. The guests were surprised and treated to special behind-the-scenes tour compliments of the Aquarium, reserved seating and recognition at AT&T Dolphin Tales, followed by a photo opportunity with the stars of the show and complimentary lunches.
“We had no idea a milestone was approaching,” Debbie Bethea, the one millionth visitor said. “It was pretty exciting!”
AT&T Dolphin Tales welcoming its one millionth visitor isn’t the only great achievement the show has received recently. On Saturday, the WSB documentary “Georgia Aquarium Dolphin Project” won an Emmy for outstanding achievement in a television news and program specialty for a health/science segment. Additionally, the Aquarium’s development team won an Emmy for their work on the short animated film “The SEA I SEE.”
We want to thank all Georgia Aquarium guests, fans, staff, volunteers, and of course, our dolphins for making our largest expansion to date, AT&T Dolphin Tales, a splashing success!
If you haven’t seen the show yet – Don’t worry, the show is here to stay! AT&T Dolphin Tales is now part of the Aquarium’s all-inclusive Total Ticket. With this ticket, Georgia Aquarium provides visitors with general admission to all six permanent galleries of the Aquarium, the spectacular AT&T Dolphin Tales show, Deepo’s Undersea 3D Wondershow and a special exhibition – currently featuring “Frogs – A Chorus of Colors” through 2012.
